The military group includes the France and Germany Star, the 1939-1945 Star, the 1939-1945 War Medal, and the 1939-1945 Defence Medal. This specific grouping is characteristic of a serviceman engaged in operational duties in the Northwest Europe theatre, including France, the Low Countries, and Germany, during the final stages of the conflict between 1944 and 1945. Accompanying the medals is a Past Provincial Grand Master jewel from the National Independent Order of Oddfellows (NIOOF). This gilt-metal and enamel piece features a central shield with symbolic icons including scales, a lion, a beehive, and an eagle, surrounded by a blue enamel border and suspended from a purple silk ribbon with a titled top bar.
