A comprehensive collection of approximately twenty British Army and Royal Marines cap badges and insignia, primarily dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. This assembly features a significant selection of anodised aluminium Staybright examples alongside earlier bi-metal and white metal variants, illustrating the heraldic evolution of the British infantry. Notable highlights include a Royal Marines Globe and Laurel badge surmounted by the Tudor Crown (King’s Crown), indicating a pre-1953 issue. The Household Division is represented by a Life Guards badge with the Elizabeth II (EIIR) cypher and a Welsh Guards leek. The collection extensively covers the restructuring of the infantry, featuring the Royal Scots Glengarry star, the Queen’s Regiment with Paschal Lamb, and an enamelled Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment badge. Other identified units include the Royal Anglian Regiment (including the Gibraltar castle grenade), Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, Royal Welch Fusiliers, The Green Howards (XIX), The Staffordshire Regiment, The Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment of Yorkshire, York and Lancaster Regiment, Devonshire and Dorset Regiment, and The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire). This lot serves as an excellent representative group for collectors of modern British military history and regimental amalgamations.
