A pair of 40mm brass artillery shell casings of British military origin. The bases are stamped with 40MM, the manufacturer code ECC, and production dates of 1951 and 1952. Both items feature the broad arrow military inspection mark and lot numbers 322 and 603. One primer assembly is stamped C1 37 and 3-52. The casings are of cylindrical construction with a flared, rimmed base.
