A mid-century modern ceramic art pottery vase produced by Scheurich Keramik in West Germany. The vessel features a tapered ovoid body and a narrow neck, finished in a high-gloss mottled and drip glaze with vertical striations in tones of umber, sienna, and cream over a dark brown ground. The underside of the unglazed foot rim reveals a brown clay body and is embossed with the mark W. GERMANY along with the mould numbers 517-45. Height: 45 cm.
