Buyer's Premium:

A fine example of a six-string banjo-guitar, also known as a banjitar, produced by the noted London maker George Templett. The instrument features a circular wooden rim and a closed resonator back, finished in a warm brown lacquer. The dark hardwood neck is fitted with a dark-stained fretboard featuring simple dot position markers and leads to a slotted headstock. The headstock is equipped with six side-mounted tuning machines with ivoroid buttons. The pot assembly includes a metal tension hoop secured by multiple brackets and a distinctive curved wooden armrest. It is currently fitted with a taut synthetic head and a standard wooden three-footed bridge with a dark cap. The maker’s mark G. TEMPLETT / MAKER / LONDON is clearly stamped into the side of the heel. This instrument represents the craftsmanship of the British banjo-making tradition during the late 19th to early 20th century, designed to allow guitarists to achieve a banjo tone using familiar tuning. Accompanied by a modern black padded gig bag. Measurements: .
