Saturday 11th April - Lladro & Royal Doulton & Worcester Figurine Sale
A fine glazed porcelain figurine by Lladró, Spain, model number 7704, titled Gardens of Athens. This piece was issued as an exclusive release for members of the Lladró Privilege Society in 2004. The sculpture depicts a young woman in a classical flowing white gown, detailed with a lavender Greek-key (meander) patterned border at the hem. She is captured in a graceful gait, carrying a basket filled with meticulously handcrafted pink and yellow porcelain flowers. The figure is set upon a naturalistic earthy base featuring a weathered fragment of a fluted column, evoking an ancient Grecian setting. The underside of the base features the official blue Lladró backstamp, the Privilege Society 2004 designation, Hand Made in Spain, and the DAISA 2003 copyright mark. The model number 7704 is clearly incised into the porcelain. This lot includes the original metallic blue Lladró Privilege branded box. Also present is a secondary grey Lladró box; however, this is labelled for model 05662 Tela Al Viento-Rosa (May Dance) and does not correspond to the figurine.
