A vintage Hobbies Bowman live steam model speedboat, known as the Snipe. This model features a hull constructed of wood with a painted finish and a live steam engine housed beneath a metal shroud. The mechanical heart of the vessel consists of a central horizontal boiler feeding a single-cylinder engine, which powers a three-blade brass propeller via a drive shaft. The boat is fitted with an adjustable brass rudder. This example is accompanied by its original heavy-duty wooden storage box, which bears the stamped identification HOBBIES BOWMAN STEAMBOAT SNIPE alongside the company trademark logo. The boat retains the name SNIPE clearly marked on both sides of the bow. Included accessories comprise an oval-shaped tin spirit fuel container and a small metal burner or funnel component.
