This collection comprises five vintage comic books published by Marvel Comics Group and Marvel Comics between 1971 and 1987. The primary focus of the assembly is The Amazing Spider-Man issues 97 and 98, written by Stan Lee with art by Gil Kane. These issues are historically significant as part of the story arc published without the Comics Code Authority seal due to the depiction of drug abuse. Issue 98 is a UK price variant (1/-) dated July 1971. Issue 97 is the US edition dated June 1971. The collection further includes The Amazing Spider-Man number 284 (January 1987) featuring the Gang War Part One storyline, Marvel Tales starring Spider-Man number 43 (June 1973) featuring the Kingpin, and Captain America and the Falcon number 137 (May 1971) featuring a battle against Spider-Man. All items are softcover periodicals housed in protective bags with backing boards.
