A group of three fraternal society jewels belonging to Companion and later Knight F. Stoves of the Knights of the Golden Horn (KGH). This consistent group follows the recipient’s progression within the W.E. Kirby Encampment No. 40 over a twenty-four year period. The first item is a silver Encampment Star jewel, hallmarked Birmingham 1924 by Fattorini & Sons, engraved to Comp. F. Stoves for the half year ending December 1924. The second is a silver and enamelled shield jewel, also hallmarked Birmingham 1924 by Fattorini & Sons, engraved to Kt. F. Stoves upon his installation on 27th August 1925. The final item is a gilt-metal Knight of the Star (K.O.S.) jewel, engraved to F. Stoves and dated 9th March 1948. The KGH was a prominent benefit society, and these jewels reflect the high manufacturing standards of the period, produced by a firm noted for high-quality badges and medals. The set is presented in its original red leatherette case with a blue velvet and silk-lined interior.
