Two items of sterling silver jewellery comprising a guilloché enamel brooch and a silver elephant band ring.
The oval sterling silver brooch features a guilloché enamel plaque depicting a silhouette of a stag in a wilderness landscape at sunset or sunrise, with birds in flight and a water feature in the foreground. The reverse is stamped with the maker’s mark SGR, the silver fineness mark 925, and a stylized N within a square punch, the latter being the national mark for Norway. The brooch is presented in a red leatherette retail box for James Ness and Son, Jewellers Silversmiths, Edinburgh.
The sterling silver band ring is of openwork construction, featuring a continuous pierced frieze of Hebrew characters. Web intelligence identifies the script as the phrase Ani Le Dodi (I am my beloved’s), a traditional Jewish wedding motif. The interior of the band is stamped 925 within a rectangular punch. The ring is presented in a green textured retail box for the UK jeweller Ernest Jones.
