The pieces are crafted from a high-quality, weighted molded plastic or composite material, finished in contrasting vibrant red and off-white or cream tones. The set is housed in its original dedicated wooden storage box, which features traditional finger-jointed corners and a protective green felt-lined interior. The exterior of the lid is gold-stamped with the maker’s mark CHESS, SUTTON COLDFIELD, and the brass-tone metal latch is stamped CHENEY ENGLAND.
