An Indian carved wooden figure of a horse, likely from Rajasthan, modeled in a prancing stance with the front right leg raised. The figure is constructed from carved wood sections and finished with a gesso ground and polychrome paint. The horse is decorated with an elaborate harness and saddlecloth featuring inset square and circular mirror pieces known as shisha and gilded highlights. The head is stylized with large expressive eyes and a gilded bridle. The mane and tail are carved and painted in a contrasting black colour. This type of figure is traditionally associated with Indian wedding ceremonies and is often referred to as a Ghodi horse. No marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on the base or body of the item.
