A Royal Crown Derby porcelain vase decorated in pattern 6299. The vase is executed in the traditional Imari palette, featuring underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze iron red, and extensive gilding. The decorative scheme consists of panels containing stylised floral motifs and geometric patterns, with additional hand-painted floral sprays and foliate scrolls across the body. The vessel is constructed with a bulbous body that tapers towards the base, a short waisted neck, and a ruffled or scalloped rim. It stands upon four integral, splayed foliate feet finished with gilded accents. The base bears a red printed factory mark for Royal Crown Derby, England, featuring a crown and interlocking monogram. Hand-painted pattern numbers 1553 and 6299 are also present in red enamel.
