A cast yellow metal sculpture, likely brass or bronze, depicting a coal miner or industrial worker in a prone position. The figure is shown crawling through a narrow space beneath a heavy, slanted slab of rock, holding a pickaxe. The worker is detailed with a protective helmet and heavy-duty boots, positioned on a textured base designed to resemble an uneven, rocky surface. The piece is evocative of 20th-century social realist sculpture and represents industrial mining heritage. The sculpture is constructed from multiple cast sections secured by screws, visible on the underside and rear. Several small, circular stamped marks are present on the interior surface of the vertical backplate, including one character resembling the letter C or G.
