A two-part garden bird bath manufactured from cast stone. The piece is designed in a naturalistic faux bois style, featuring a circular basin resting upon a tall pedestal. The pedestal is moulded in the form of a gnarled tree trunk and is decorated in relief with climbing ivy vines and a small mushroom at the base. The basin features a textured rim resembling bark, and the centre is occupied by a cast finial depicting a squirrel in a seated position clutching a nut. This style of garden ornament is characteristic of 20th-century British garden ware. No maker’s marks or signatures are present on the basin or the pedestal.
