A mahogany-cased mantel clock of Napoleon hat form, manufactured by Seth Thomas and retailled by Grant and Son, South Shields. The clock features a polished mahogany veneer case with a stepped base and curved profile. The silvered circular dial is marked with black Arabic numerals, an outer minute track, and two winding apertures, finished with black steel spade-style hands and protected by a hinged glass bezel. The mechanical twin-train movement is stamped with the Seth Thomas logo and codes Z 3 E 1 3. It is a pendulum-driven movement that strikes on a rear-mounted spiral gong. The dial is signed Grant and Son, South Shields. Accompanied by a brass winding key and a circular brass-faced pendulum.
