A pressed uranium glass bowl in Primrose yellow Pearline, attributed to George Davidson and Co of Gateshead. The piece is decorated in the pattern known as Heart and Pearly Gates, also referred to in various catalogues as Queen’s Crown or William and Mary. The glass contains uranium, which produces a characteristic bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. The bowl features a hand-finished, crimped, and ruffled rim with a milky-white opalescent border. The moulded design consists of repeating heart-shaped motifs alternating with diamond-quilted panels. The base is smooth and moulded, consistent with the manufacturing process, and bears no maker’s marks.
