A commemorative model of Robert Stephenson’s historic steam locomotive, The Rocket. The piece is constructed from cold-cast resin with a dark bronze-effect finish and is mounted upon an integral rectangular base designed to resemble a section of railway track. The locomotive features a seated driver figure at the controls and a nameplate reading ROCKET to the side of the boiler. The track bed base includes raised lettering to the front reading THE ROCKET. A brass-toned metal plaque is affixed to the front edge of the base, engraved with the inscription FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE P.T.A. The underside of the base is finished with green protective felt.
