An unattributed full-size violin featuring a two-piece spruce top and maple back. The instrument is fitted with an ebony fingerboard and tuning pegs. The bridge is stamped Aubert à Mirecourt. The outfit includes two dark wood bows; the first features an ebony frog with an iridescent eye and slide, while the second frog shows evidence of previous repair with yellowed adhesive residue. Also included is a cardboard box of Echtes Zigeuner rosin, marked Made in Western Germany. The violin is housed in a traditional black-finished wooden coffin-style case with a magenta-coloured felt interior.
