A Victorian sterling silver open-face pocket watch featuring a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The dial is marked with the serial number 4270 below the 12 o’clock position. The case is constructed from sterling silver with an engine-turned reverse surrounding a vacant garter-style cartouche and an engraved foliate decoration to the band. The interior case back bears London hallmarks for 1890, including the lion passant, leopard’s head, and date letter P. Maker’s marks include CH on the pendant, attributed to Charles Harris, and JF on the inner case, possibly for James Fowler or Josiah Flowers. The movement is a key-wind and key-set manual type accessed via a double-hinged back with two winding and setting apertures in the inner dust cover.
Case size: 51mm.
