A collection of 22 pieces of British and Commonwealth military insignia, primarily dating from the early to mid-20th century and predominantly featuring King George VI era designs. The assortment includes a variety of cap badges, shoulder titles, and collar badges struck in brass, white metal, and bi-metal. The collection represents a broad cross-section of the British Army and Royal Air Force, including infantry regiments, technical corps, and yeomanry units. Featured units include the Royal Air Force, Royal Garrison Artillery, Gordon Highlanders, The Black Watch, York and Lancaster Regiment, The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment), and the Suffolk Regiment. Technical and support services are represented by the Royal Engineers, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, Intelligence Corps, Royal Artillery, Royal Corps of Signals, and Military Police. Regional and yeomanry badges include the Royal Buckinghamshire Yeomanry, Hampshire Regiment, Lothians and Border Horse, and Ayrshire Yeomanry. Notable motifs present include the stag head of the Gordon Highlanders, the Castle of Edinburgh for the King’s Own Scottish Borderers, the Paschal Lamb of the Queen’s Royal Regiment, and the figure of Mercury for the Royal Corps of Signals. The collection also contains a proficiency badge featuring crossed rifles and a cast white metal elephant insignia. Most items retain their original slider or lug attachments to the reverse.
