A group of six 19th-century horological winding keys. The collection includes two advertising keys: a brass shield-shaped key for W. Atkinson, 14 High St. East Wallsend, and a gilded shield-shaped key embossed Watchmaker & Jeweller. The lot further comprises a pair of matching circular bow keys stamped with the numeral 2, an ornate scrollwork key stamped with the numeral 5, and a decorative rococo-style key. Each is manufactured with a brass bow and a tempered steel winding barrel featuring a hollow square aperture. These specialized tools were essential personal accessories for the operation of mechanical pocket watches during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
