This collection comprises an assortment of hand-painted lead or white metal alloy figures representing various periods of British and international military history. The group includes members of the Household Division Foot Guards in full dress scarlet tunics and bearskin headdresses, including a standard-bearer. The Household Cavalry is represented by three mounted figures, including Life Guards in scarlet and a member of the Blues and Royals in a blue tunic. Military musicians include a trombonist, a Foot Guards drummer, and two drummers in dark blue uniforms with white pith helmets. Further British ceremonial figures include a Yeoman of the Guard, a Yeoman Warder, and a Highland infantryman in a kilt and feather bonnet. The historical section features medieval knights with heraldic shields, an archer, and figures from the Robin Hood legend including Friar Tuck. An international figure of a Vatican Swiss Guard in traditional Renaissance-style uniform is also present. The figures are mounted on integral green or grey rectangular bases. Several detached regimental standards are included, one featuring a maroon field with battle honours and a Union Jack pattern border.
