A mid-20th-century locket necklace, the oval-shaped pendant featuring a polished finish with an engraved foliate scroll design to the front cover and a plain reverse. The locket opens on a side hinge to reveal two internal photo compartments, complete with their original removable oval slip frames. The pendant is suspended from a fine cable-link chain fitted with a standard bolt ring clasp. The interior of the locket is stamped 9CT over a horizontal line with BK-FT below, indicating 9-carat gold front and back panels over base-metal internal components. The item is accompanied by a vintage white textured presentation box for the jeweller David Summerfield of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Chester-le-Street.
