A late 19th or early 20th-century walking cane featuring a silver knob handle and an ebonised wood shaft. The handle is of a flared knob form with a rounded top and is stamped at the base with three rectangular punch marks. These include the numbers 800 indicating 800 grade silver purity, alongside a crescent moon and crown symbol representing the German Reichsstempel mark introduced in 1888. A third punch contains a maker’s mark, possibly WT. The tapering shaft is constructed from ebonised wood and terminates in a metal ferrule.
