A vintage hand-dyed leather figure of an elephant, attributed to Liberty and Co. The figure is modelled in a standing position with its trunk raised upwards. The exterior is constructed from dark brown leather with a textured surface designed to mimic elephant hide, featuring visible stitched seams. The head is set with two dark inset glass eyes and two white tusks, likely composed of celluloid or a similar composition material. The item is accompanied by a handwritten blue paper note which reads: LIBERTY’S HAND DYED LEATHER ELEPHANT GLASS EYES 1930s. No maker’s marks, stamps, or embossed labels are visible on the body or the base of the feet.
