This collection of mid-20th-century British entertainment memorabilia comprises several issues of fan club magazines and two autograph albums, primarily focused on the singer Frankie Vaughan. The magazines are titled Frankie’s Record: Magazine of the Frankie Vaughan Fan Club and include softcover, stapled issues for Christmas 1957, August 1958, Christmas 1958, and August 1959. Also present is an orange promotional pamphlet titled Ovaltine presents Frankie Vaughan. The two landscape-format autograph albums, one bound in red textured cloth and the other in blue textured paper, contain numerous hand-signed promotional photographs and inscribed pages dating from 1953 to 1958. Visible signatures and inscriptions include: Sincerely Kenny Baker 1957, Frankie Vaughan 1956 North Pier Blackpool, Best and Brightest Show, Ken Dodd 1955 Central Pier, Ted Lune 1956, Yours sincerely David Nixon North Pier June 1958, and To Pat love Uncle Pete 1953 Central Pier next to a photograph of Peter Webster. Other notable signatories include The Southlanders (Frank, Allan, Vernon, Harry), The King Brothers (Tony, Michael, Denis), Albert Modley, Emma Shelton, Morton Fraser’s Harmonica Gang, Don Lang, Sydney Walmsley, and Max Bacon. Many inscriptions reference Blackpool venues such as the North Pier, Central Pier, and Palace Theatre.
