A vintage lithographed tinplate clockwork motorcycle and sidecar manufactured by Philipp Niedermeier of Nuremberg, Germany. The toy features a detailed motorcycle with a rider dressed in a red jacket and yellow trousers with a matching helmet. The attached sidecar carries a passenger wearing a boater hat and a yellow-and-red jacket, depicted playing a copper-toned metal horn. The fuel tank and the front wheel both bear a circular logo containing the entwined letters PH, the established trademark for Philipp Niedermeier. The front mudguard features a licence plate reading I-1804. The tyres feature red lithographed text reading BALLON CORD. The integrated clockwork wind-up mechanism includes a winding key stamped with the characters GES. GESCH. indicating a legally protected design. No box is present with this item.
