Ercol Windsor Model 455 sideboard, designed by Lucian Ercolani. The construction features a solid elm top, cupboard doors, and drawer fronts, displaying a prominent swirling grain. The internal frame and base are made of beech. The upper section consists of three cupboards; the two doors on the left open to a large single compartment containing a height-adjustable wooden shelf, while the single door on the right opens to a compartment fitted with a removable, sliding cutlery drawer with three internal dividers. Two wide, full-length drawers are positioned below the cupboard section. The piece features integrated, recessed oval wooden handles on both the doors and drawers. On the inside of the right-hand cupboard door frame is a small rectangular blue and gold foil label. Stamped into the wood adjacent to the label are the characters Reg. Des. No. 905183. The rectangular top surface features rounded edges and exposed dovetail joinery at the corners.
