A small studio pottery earthenware bud vase of globular form, produced by Poole Pottery, England. The vessel features a short, narrow neck and is finished in a matte dark chocolate-brown glaze. The mid-section is decorated with five horizontal bands of sgraffito-style toothed or comb-like patterns, carved through the glaze to reveal the contrasting cream-coloured clay body beneath. This modernist textured aesthetic is characteristic of the Aegean range produced during the late 1960s and 1970s. The base is impressed with a rectangular factory mark reading POOLE ENGLAND alongside the impressed shape number 71.
