A mid-20th century sterling silver two-handled commemorative trophy cup, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1972. The cup features a flared rim and stylised, angular handles with scroll terminals, mounted upon a knopped stem and a tiered black ebonised circular base. The front of the bowl is engraved with a presentation dedication: T.G.C., W. H. Walton Trophy, 1972, G. A. ARMSTRONG. Hallmarks located near the rim include the maker’s mark D and H for Davis and Hammond, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the lion passant standard mark, and the date letter X for 1972. This item represents an original piece of British sporting presentation silver. Dimensions: Height 12 cm, Diameter 8 cm.
