A mid-century West German art pottery vase manufactured by Scheurich Keramik, featuring the Lora decoration. The vessel is of tall, waisted cylindrical form with a slightly flared rim and foot. The exterior is finished in a characteristic Fat Lava volcanic glaze with a textured, bubbly surface in a palette of black, grey, and white. This is overlaid with several vertical, glossy red drip accents extending from the upper section. The interior is coated with a smooth, dark brown glaze. The underside is embossed with the mark W. GERMANY and the serial number 497-30, indicating the shape number and height in centimetres. Faint hand-applied red markings are also visible on the base.
