A traditional bodhran manufactured by Waltons of Ireland. The instrument comprises a circular laminated wooden frame fitted with a single animal skin head, likely goatskin, secured around the perimeter by a row of brass-toned upholstery tacks. The interior of the frame features a fixed wooden cross-brace for handling and structural support. A faded black stamp on the internal frame reads WALTONS IRELAND. The drum is accompanied by a turned wooden tipper beater with bulbous ends. Also included is a black synthetic fabric circular carrying bag with twin handles, featuring a screen-printed graphic of Inverness Castle and the text INVERNESS.
