A sterling silver Royal Air Force (RAF) sweetheart brooch, dating to the WWII era. The brooch is modelled as a pair of detailed outspread feathered wings flanking a central pierced and interlaced RAF monogram. The monogram is surmounted by a Tudor Crown, commonly known as the King’s Crown, indicating a date of manufacture prior to 1953. The reverse of the right-hand wing is stamped with the fineness mark 925, confirming the item is made of sterling silver. The brooch is fitted with a simple long pin and a traditional C-clasp fastening.
