A late 19th-century Imperial German Prussian military sabre, of a pattern typically carried by non-commissioned officers within the artillery or light cavalry regiments. The weapon features a curved, single-edged steel blade with a wide, shallow fuller running approximately three-quarters of its length. The hilt is constructed of steel in a traditional stirrup pattern, consisting of a simple D-shaped guard that transitions into a rear-swept quillon ending in a rounded disc finial. The crossguard is fitted with twin rounded langets extending over the ricasso. The ergonomically shaped grip is covered in black textured leather and bound with multiple turns of twisted brass wire. A steel backstrap covers the rear of the grip, terminating in a rounded pommel cap. No legible maker’s marks or unit stamps are visible on the ricasso or hilt components due to surface wear and pitting.
