A collection of commemorative items issued by the Cunard Line to mark the final voyages and retirement of the ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2 in 2008. The group includes a circular brass dish featuring a central relief of the ship, embossed with the name QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 on the front and stamped COMPLIMENTS OF CUNARD LINE LTD. on the reverse. The ephemera includes several tasseled dinner menus from the Queens Grill restaurant, dated between 30 September and 5 October 2008. These menus feature specific commemorative covers titled The Triumph of a Great Tradition, Front Page News, The Leaving of Liverpool, and Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot. The collection further contains a black document folder with red CUNARD lettering and crest, a commemorative brochure titled QE2 The Final Voyage: Britain Waves Goodbye, and a large format print titled QE2: Taking Her Place in History. Also present is a copy of the Greenock Telegraph newspaper dated Monday 6 October 2008, featuring the headline HER MEMORY WILL LIVE ON.
