A hand-blown and hand-worked art glass sculpture of a crocodile or alligator, executed in the style of 20th-century Venetian glassmaking. The piece is crafted using an internal colour encasement technique, featuring a core of mottled orange, yellow, and red glass powders encased within a thick layer of transparent clear glass. The body is heavily textured with undulating ridges along the back to represent scales. The figure is modelled with an open jaw and stands on four applied clear glass feet. The eyes are detailed with small, applied cobalt-blue glass spots. The base features a smooth, ground pontil mark. No maker’s marks or labels are present.
