This collection comprises various German paper currency banknotes, largely issued during the First World War and the subsequent hyperinflation era of the Weimar Republic. The grouping includes high-denomination issues such as an Eine Million Mark note dated July 1923, multiple Hunderttausend Mark and Zwanzigtausend Mark notes from early 1923, and Tausend Mark and Hundert Mark Reichsbanknotes spanning from 1908 to 1922. The assortment also features lower-denomination Darlehenskassenschein (loan office notes) for one, two, and five Mark, dating between 1914 and 1917, as well as a 100 Mark note from the Bayerische Notenbank dated 1922. The notes are printed on paper and exhibit complex graphic designs, including portraits such as that of a merchant on the 100,000 Mark issues, serial numbers, and various official government seals and signatures.
