An early 20th-century three-tier folding cake stand constructed from dark-stained oak. The stand features an arched carrying handle above two bobbin-turned upright supports. It comprises three circular tiers, each with a recessed centre designed to hold plates or cakes. The tiers are attached to a central vertical support with a folding mechanism that allows the stand to be stored flat for storage. The piece is raised on four splayed feet. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the item.
