A Victorian 7 carat yellow gold motto ring, featuring the German inscription SCHÜTZE DICH in raised relief to the exterior, meaning Protect You. The interior of the band is hand-engraved in a cursive script with the inscription G. d. 2. April 1868. Two stamped marks are present to the interior: a maker’s mark consisting of two chevron-style symbols and a numeric mark 7/ indicating the gold purity.
