A trio of decorative ceramic figurines comprising one large roaring big cat and two smaller tortoises. The big cat, modelled in a prowling stance, features an open mouth with visible teeth and a textured mane area around the neck. The accompanying tortoises are depicted with segmented shells and outstretched heads. All three items are finished in a two-tone green and black drip glaze, a style strongly associated with the mid-20th-century Canadian firm Blue Mountain Pottery. The glaze consists of a dark ebony base over which a vibrant emerald green has been applied, allowed to run and pool to highlight the moulded details. No maker’s marks or labels are present.
