This lot comprises two vintage model double-decker buses representing different UK regional operators. The first is a Dinky Toys (Meccano Ltd) 289 Routemaster Bus. This die-cast metal model is finished in a red Northern livery and carries side advertisements for Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance with the slogan Take GRE care of yourself. The front destination blind is set to NEWCASTLE 522 and features a Shop at Binns advertisement. The base plate is cast with the details ROUTEMASTER BUS, DINKY TOYS, MECCANO LTD, MADE IN ENGLAND, and the model number 289.
The second is a white metal kit-built model produced by Westward. It depicts a half-cab double-decker bus in the maroon and cream livery of Felix Motors Ltd, an operator formerly based in Hatfield, near Doncaster. The destination blinds for the front, side, and rear indicate the MOORENDS route. The bus carries fleet number 26 on the front. The underside of the model is cast with the inscription A WESTWARD MODEL PRODUCT and a stylized logo containing the letters M and W.
