This collection consists of several items of mid-20th century British Army uniforms and field gear, primarily attributed to the Royal Engineers. The group includes two 1949 Pattern wool serge battledress blouses. One blouse features embroidered Royal Engineers shoulder titles in red and navy blue, Scottish Command formation signs depicting a yellow lion rampant on a red and blue shield, and a black square trade badge with a gold winged lightning bolt. The second blouse displays similar Royal Engineers shoulder titles with a Scottish Command sign on the right sleeve and a Northern Command blue cross on a red shield on the left sleeve. A pair of 1949 Pattern battledress trousers is included, bearing a white cloth label for Size No. 5, manufactured by Mourne Clothing Co., Ltd., dated 1955 with a broad arrow stamp. The set also contains a green denim battledress blouse with Sergeant rank chevrons, featuring an internal label marked Size No. 4 and dated 1944 with a broad arrow. A double-breasted wool greatcoat with brass general service buttons is present. Additional garments include a grey wool V-neck sweater, blue cotton shorts, and a khaki wool scarf. Equipment comprises a canvas kit bag stamped Hawley & Co. Makers 1954, Cat. No. C.C. 1283, and hand-marked Sgt. Follin W / 23925589. The lot is completed by various pieces of Pattern 1937 webbing including a belt, braces, and pouches, a two-piece nested aluminium mess tin set, and a tan canvas haversack.
