A mid-century modern ceramic vase from the Wellington range produced by Carlton Ware, England. The vessel features a tall cylindrical form with a slightly flared rim and a series of nine prominent horizontal stepped ribs or rings decorating the lower half of the body. It is finished in a vibrant, high-gloss monochrome orange glaze to the exterior, with a contrasting off-white glaze to the interior. The base carries a printed factory mark in black script reading Carlton Ware above MADE IN ENGLAND and TRADE MARK. An impressed shape number 2973 is also visible on the base edge.
