A collection of vintage brass and copper decorative and functional objects, primarily in the Orientalist or Middle Eastern style. The group includes an ornate brass desk inkstand featuring lidded inkwells with domed foliate-chased covers and pointed finials, an openwork decorative gallery, and scroll-style side handles, accompanied by a matching letter opener designed as a curved jambiya-style dagger with an etched hilt and scabbard. The collection also features a figural brass candle holder group depicting a camel with a rider under a parasol, alongside palm-tree-shaped candle holders with scalloped nozzles set on a base populated by small cast camels. Also present is a circular tea kettle, constructed from copper or heavily patinated brass, with a fixed flat handle, sitting upon a cast brass trivet stand with three cabriole legs ending in hoof feet. Completing the assortment are brass candlesticks of baluster form with knopped stems, some featuring faceted diamond-shaped knops, all set on square stepped bases. These items are typical of mid-20th-century export or tourist wares from North Africa or the Middle East and are primarily of cast construction.
