This collection of mid-20th-century English workshop tools features a Stanley No. 130 double-ended block plane and several sharpening stones. The Stanley No. 130 plane was manufactured by Stanley Works (G.B.) Ltd. in Sheffield, England. It is constructed with a cast iron body finished in black japanning and includes a turned wooden front knob. This versatile model is designed to work as both a standard block plane and a bullnose plane by reversing the position of the blade. The base of the tool is cast with the name Stanley, and it is accompanied by its original orange and green cardboard box which bears the model number 130 and the maker details. The group also includes three sharpening stones in their original packaging: a Carborundum No. 108 combination silicon carbide stone produced by the Carborundum Company Ltd. in Trafford Park, Manchester; a Norton India Oilstone No. 0-combination; and a second Norton India Oilstone, both manufactured by Norton Abrasives Limited in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
