A B-flat soprano clarinet produced by the London-based makers Rudall, Carte & Co. as part of their Graduate series. The instrument features a body constructed from a black matte-finish material, likely ebonite or a high-quality composite, fitted with silver-toned nickel-plated keywork. The clarinet is comprised of five separate sections: a mouthpiece with a metal ligature and protective cap, a barrel, an upper joint, a lower joint, and a bell. The upper joint and the bell both bear the stamped maker’s mark, consisting of a crown symbol above the word Graduate in script, with Rudall, Carte appearing below. Natural cork is used for the tenon joints. The instrument is housed in a black soft-sided zippered carry case with a brown plush-lined fitted interior.
