Buyer's Premium:

A set of four promotional advertising collectibles produced for Homepride flour. These figurines are modelled as the brand’s iconic mascot, Fred the Flour Man. The set comprises two pairs of salt and pepper shakers of varying sizes. Each figure is constructed from moulded black and off-white plastic and features the character’s signature minimalist design, including a black bowler hat and a black suit.

The two larger figures function as a pair; one character is depicted with open dot eyes, while the other features curved lines representing closed eyes. The two smaller figures both feature open dot eyes. Each hat is perforated with holes for dispensing salt or pepper. The bases of the larger figures are embossed with the manufacturer’s marks, including MADE IN HONG KONG, the stylised name Spillers followed by a registration symbol, and a square logo containing the letter S. These items were widely used as promotional premiums in the United Kingdom during the 1970s and 1980s.
