An Art Deco style oak granddaughter clock, dating to the mid-20th century, attributed to Smiths based on style and movement characteristics. The case features a simple arched hood housing a circular dial with a silvered chapter ring, Arabic numerals, and twin winding holes, marked MADE IN ENGLAND at the six o’clock position. The trunk is ornamented with a triple vertical stepped wooden applique characteristic of the period, resting on a plain plinth base. Internal views reveal a mechanical movement with a spiral gong strike; the brass pendulum bob and a winding key are present but currently detached. The movement plate features a circular maker’s mark.
