This lot comprises a two-piece flower bowl set, attributed to the Sowerby Ellison Glass Works, pattern 2570. The set is produced from pressed uranium glass, exhibiting a translucent pale lime-green colour under natural lighting and a strong neon green fluorescence when exposed to ultraviolet light. The bowl is of a compressed globular form, standing on three integral stepped feet. The exterior body is decorated with a relief-moulded geometric design featuring large circular roundels flanked by stylised foliate motifs. The matching flower frog lid is domed and features nineteen circular perforations to accommodate flower stems. As a pressed glass item, the base of the bowl is smooth with visible mould seams and no pontil mark.
